Which software decodes the sample?
For future questions: Please always test current git
head before reporting problems and please always
provide your failing command line together with
complete, uncut console output.

IMHO, I provoke the misunderstanding, because the subject was wrong in
sense of what I wanted to know.

I am using ffmpeg on Windows from Zeranoe and tried multiple versions.
If I have a long file like I was just trying a 55hr flv, it says
24:51:00 is invalid so I had to convert it to seconds.
The version of ffmpeg included in the latest WinFF for Windows totally
ignored the "invalid" -ss just converting from the beginning.
Is there some way you are supposed to format 24+ hours besides
calculating seconds always?

Wild guess, but dvgrab requires running as root to access 1394 devices,
at least on any machine I've used it on, perhaps ffmpeg does too?

However, I can still get the same output by just doing `ffmpeg -f libdc1394

Subject: [FFmpeg-user] Streaming text with libavfilter drawtext
Message-ID:
Just for info I have at least tried to search this list for an answer
before posting.
I have a streaming text that I would like to get added to my stream. What
I'm aiming for here is to get data.txt re-read every second so the textdata
in that(that updates every 0.1 seconds) will be shown in my stream:
-f dshow -i
video="Integrated Camera":audio="Internal Microphone
(Conexant 2"
-s 320x240 -r 30 -metadata title="my soo awesome video"
-loglevel warning -vf
drawtext=fontfile=arial.ttf:fontcolor=white:shadowcolor=black:x=100:y=x/dar:textfile='data.txt'
-f flv rtmp://698400.fme.bambuser.com/b-fme/myuserid
I have tested to add draw=lt(mod(t\,1)\,1) but what I'm looking for is
really redraw=every second.
If this is not possible to achieve please redirect to the source code for
adding that option, if you got time.

This is not currently possible. Please tell me if the following patch:
http://ffmpeg.org/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel/2012-December/135176.html
would suit your needs. Note that it reloads the text for each frame rather
given the amount of work that drawtext must perform, this
is not a big issue IMHO.

I want to convert it to .ogg file and preserve its:
audio/video parameters like bit rate aspect ratio and amount of pixels, but
when I try to encode it with ffmpeg it always lowers audio/video bit rate.
can you tell me a commend that will output a similar file like the source

Command line and complete, uncut console output missing.
(I do not easily remember a report where mediainfo
output helped, but ffmpeg command line including the
complete, uncut console output is always necessary.)

gcc is unable to create an executable file.
If gcc is a cross-compiler, use the --enable-cross-compile option.
Only do this if you know what cross compiling means.
C compiler test failed.
If you think configure made a mistake, make sure you are using the latest
version from Git.
If the latest version fails, report the problem to the
ffmpeg-user at ffmpeg.org mailing list or IRC #ffmpeg on irc.freenode.net.
Include the log file "config.log" produced by configure as this will help
solving the problem.
I have also replaced grep with usr/xpg4/bin/grep in configure but still getting following errors :

Thanks a lot for reply.
I have changed the path in configure file to /usr/xpg4/bin/grep . I also got succeeded to compile the ffmpeg using following :
./configure --disable-yasm --extra-libs=/usr/lib/values-xpg6.o --enable-cross-compile --arch=x86_64 --target-os=sunos --extra-cflags="-fPIC" --disable-mmx --disable-protocol=udp --disable-encoder=nellymoser --disable-demuxer=mpc8
But after configuring when I run make command I got following errors :
bash-3.00# make
./version.sh: syntax error at line 5: `revision=$' unexpected

Do you have gcc installed?
Do not try to compile FFmpeg with sun-cc, even if it
works, the resulting executable is either ridiculously
slow or completely broken.
Compilation with gcc on sunos is tested regularly and
expected to work.

Ive tried the "-i normal.wav" at the begining and after the video parameters, but seem to get this error every time, any ideas why it seems the audio as a 2 channel wav and wants to decode it?

My guess is ffmpeg is "transcoding" it to something else.
try -acodec copy -vcodec copy?

I am not sure what 3 pass is.
https://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/wiki/x264EncodingGuide describes 2 pass a bit.

You should try as hard as possible not to use variables
in the command lines you post here.
(I don't see the problem in above line although there
obviously is one - perhaps you can change your script
so it does print what it executes or add -report)

OK will do, but as you have everything including command line and UNCUT output i did not see this as a problem.
replace "$file" with "/mnt/media1/Jukebox_upload/Front 242 - Headhunter.mpg"
replace "$DEST_DIR/$tsfile" with "/mnt/media1/Jukebox/Front 242 - Headhunter.ts"
or to be pedantic
replace "$DEST_DIR" with "/mnt/media1/Jukebox"
replace "$tsfile" with "Front 242 - Headhunter.ts"

Its a pretty simple script, take a file, strip the audio, normalize the audio, transcode the file to a lower rate with the normalized audio.

I doubt ogg container will accept H.264 and/or pcm_s16le.

I finally resolved the issue. I wasn't setting the framerate right in two
1) The 7500 should have been 7.5 .
2) The '-r' flag must go *before* the input device if it is to be applied
to the input.
So in case anyone else wants to figure those things out without looking
stupid they can!

Subject: [FFmpeg-user] Wrapping DNxHD in a MXF
Message-ID:
I have a DNxHD essence that was transcoded from MPEG2 within FFMPEG. The video essence is RAW, it's not wrapped in any format. How can I wrap the video into an MXF? I have tried this command:
ffmpeg -i MPEGTStoDNXHD -vcodec copy -acodec copy DNxHD.MXF
I get the following error:
[mxf @ 0x8441880] track 0: could not find essence container ul, codec not currently supported in container
If FFMPEG cant do it, does anyone know of a different way within Linux?

Complete, uncut console output missing.
(It works fine here with a dnxhd sample.)

Taking a guess without testing, try specifying "-f dnxhd" prior to your
-i to force it into knowing what it is.

But don't you agree that this would indicate a bug that the
developers should really try to fix?
(Which would be completely impossible without a complete
bug report.)

Did you read this?
The mp3 file contains 8MB of image attachments in
the beginning. Since input can be slow (although
it normally isn't), ffmpeg does not scan the whole
stream but only a part of it. Increasing the default
value would not really help, because the next encoder
may decide to put 80MB in front of the first real
mp3 frame.
-probesize 9M works fine.
