环境为xp+vmware6.5+ubuntu10.04
正常安装vmware tools
设置win下共享文件夹，在ubuntu的mnt/hgfs下看不到设定的共享文件夹
解决办法：
1.sudo apt-get install intall open-vm-dkms
2.sudo mount -t vmhgfs .host:/ /mnt/hgfs
自己的问题是如上解决的，具体缘由还没搞清楚，像是vmtool与vmware的版本不兼容，重新下载安装这个vm的dkms，哪位知道详细的原因我也愿闻其详。

3、将下面的代码粘贴进去（“#”开头的那一行为注释，可以直接复制进文件中）

还有一种解决方案是从源头来解决：这个 问题很多事因为虚拟工具没有安装好导致的，所以安装虚拟工具。安装过程遇到找不到头文件在执行的过程中，我遇到了What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running的问题。问题描述：运行./vmware-install.pl后，一直按enter键就ok了，当出现下面这个提示后，你就要小心了.Before running VMware Tools for the first time, you need to configure it byinvoking the following command: "/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl". Do you wantthis program to invoke the command for you now? [yes] Before you can compile modules, you need to have the following installed... makegcckernel headers of the running kernel
上面提示的意思安装vmware tools必须先安装gcc和内核头文件。Searching for GCC...Detected GCC binary at "/usr/bin/gcc".The path "/usr/bin/gcc" appears to be a valid path to the gcc binary.Would you like to change it? [no]
问题来了：它找不到我的内核头文件的路径Searching for a valid kernel header path...The path "" is not valid.Would you like to change it? [yes] What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your runningkernel?提示我要输入内核头文件的路径会出现这种问题有两种情况：一种是你没有安装内核头文件，那就要先安装.另外一种情况是vmware的问题，其实kernel header已经安装了，只是没有正确的被识别到解决办法如下：1. 运行cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build/include/linux如果没有提示错误信息，ps: uname -r
查看内核版本号
2. 做两个软连接就行了，具体方法是运行下面两条命令ln -s ../generated/autoconf.hln -s ../generated/utsrelease.h这两条命令给vmwaretools关联了正确的内核头文件的位置3. 再次执行./vmware-install.pl后，如下所示：vmware已经可以找到了合法的内核头文件路径，接下来就是继续按enter键了。Searching for GCC...Detected GCC binary at "/usr/bin/gcc".The path "/usr/bin/gcc" appears to be a valid path to the gcc binary.Would you like to change it? 今天无聊，下载个14.10的ubuntu安装玩玩，结果又出现问题了，具体经过冗下：1. 上午，使用的VMware10.0.1安装ubuntu14.10，结果出现无法安装
vmware tools，后来发现是镜像文件没有选择linux.iso(这个问题很多
小伙伴应该也没发现)；2. 安装好了VMware后，以为在VMware 菜单栏 虚拟机 &设置&选项&共享文件夹 \
总是启动，文件夹选择了E,D盘；3. 结果进入终端，改user为root后，发现能cd /mnt/hgfs,但是ls发现找不到D盘；
很是无赖；4. 让后将虚拟机升级为VMware10.0.4,依然一样；给出2附件，一个附件是ubuntu10.04可以共享win 7磁盘；
一个附件是ubuntu14.10不能共享win 7磁盘.

安装vmware tools时的一堆错误肯定被你无视了vmware 10.0.4只支持到3.13内核，ubuntu 14.10的内核是3.16。你需要自己手动给vmware的内核模块打兼容补丁

反正通过反复安装vmware-tools，现在已经可以共享win7下面的磁盘，可能原因是vmware-tools安装过程中部分失败，譬如：vmware-tools server fail；终端reboot后，通过观察启动项中发现只要vmware-tools server亮红fail后，终端就无法进入到win7磁盘，只能到hgfs；1）现在，我反复reboot确认，启动项vmware-tools server [ok],所以，我现在已经将目前的ubuntu14.04备份同时在win7下面打包了；2）运行一下，最起码Guest operating system daemon:
